Use of aloe vera :

Create your own facial cleanser with aloe vera: Just mix with olive oil
, rosewater, and a few drops of grapeseed oil in a food processor. Keep it in the fridge!
Nourish your skin: Aloe vera is extremely nutrient-rich: it has 18 amino acids, B vitamins 1, 2, and 6, vitamin C, niacinamide, choline and the minerals calcium, iron, lecithin, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium and zinc.

Use of Turmeric :

Culinary Use:
Dried, ground turmeric is a frequent component of curry powders and masalas. Possessing a brilliant yellow color, turmeric is frequently employed as an effective natural food dye. Its cheerful hue may be seen in Western foods such as relishes, mustards, margarines, and even processed cheeses. Fresh turmeric has a brighter flavor than dried. It may be grated or minced and added to hot vegetable dishes or stews.

Medicinal Use:
Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, has recently been the object of considerable interest in the medical and scientific community. In studies conducted with animal subjects, curcumin was shown to have a protective effect on the liver, and it accelerated the wound healing. It shown promise as an anti-tumor agent and is the subject of interest as a potential weapon in the battle against multiple forms of cancer. Further studies, on human participants, need to be carried out to refine scientists’ understanding of these promising results. Traditional alternative medicine offers turmeric as a remedy for gastrointestinal ailments, skin conditions, and arthritis. It is considered useful as an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and healing agent, and as such is often used to treat bruises and minor cuts and burns.

As a medicine, turmeric may be taken in the form of tinctures; gelatin capsules filled with dried, ground turmeric; and liquid extracts. For skin ailments, turmeric can be made into a paste that is applied to the affected area. Taken in conventional amounts, turmeric is considered safe; however, it should not be taken medicinally by pregnant women of by those individuals who have experienced bile-duct or gallbladder problems, unless specifically directed to do so by a physician.

In many North Indian traditional wedding ceremonies, haldi is applied to both, the groom and the bride, not only to make them look good with fresh glowing skins, but to ward off the evil eye. It is a cleansing herb for the whole body. It is well recognized as the best anti-oxidant, hypoglycemic, colorant, antiseptic and wound healer. It is this spice that gives Indian curries their characteristic bright yellow-orange color.
The healing properties of turmeric have made it a most sought after ingredient in cosmetics and drugs, as the leaf oil and extract can also be used as sunscreens and bio-pesticides.
In fact, Turmeric has been in the global limelight for the granting of the controversial patent on it! It is used as a carminative and stomachic in the treatment of digestive disorders such as flatulence, bloating, and appetite loss. Turmeric is used internally as boiled powder, fresh juice, and confection and externally as paste, oil, ointment, and lotion. In both the Ayurvedic and Siddha systems of medicine, a turmeric paste is used topically to treat ulcers and scabies.Turmeric, with its antibacterial action, prevents bacterial infections on wounds. Turmeric also has a long history of use for its anti-inflammatory and antiarthritic effects. As in India, it is used in China, Japan, and Korea for a range of indications including, Amenorrhea. Turmeric has been investigated for its cholagogous influence on the secretion of bile, pancreatic, and gastric juices. It is currently being evaluated for its anticarcinogenic and antimutagenic properties.The roots are pounded and pressed to extract a juice that, when mixed with water, is helpful in earaches and to clear the sinuses through nasal application. The astringent qualities of turmeric are also useful in cases of consumption, tuberculosis, bronchitis, colds and asthma, the root being lightly cooked and eaten. At times, turmeric has been taken as a diuretic, and topically it can be helpful with pimples or to stop bleeding. The active constituent of turmeric is curcumin, which has been shown to have a wide range of therapeutic effects. It protects against free radical damage, as it is a strong antioxidant.

The more pungent an onion is, higher the concentration of healthy photochemical in it. There is no known side effect except for the bad smell! One can eat moderate amounts of onion everyday to be healthy. The higher the intake of onion, the lower the level of glucose was found during oral or intravenous glucose tolerance tests. Experimental and clinical evidence suggests that allyl propyl disulfide is responsible for this effect and lowers blood sugar levels by increasing the amount of free insulin available. Allyl propyl disulfide does this by competing with insulin, which is also a disulphide, to occupy the sites in the liver where insulin is inactivated. This result in an increase in the amount of insulin available to usher glucose into cells causing a lowering of blood sugar. The regular consumption of onions has, like garlic, been shown to lower high cholesterol levels and high blood pressure, both of which help prevent atherosclerosis and diabetic heart disease, and reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke. These beneficial effects are likely due to onions' sulfur compounds, its chromium and its vitamin B6, which helps prevent heart disease by lowering high homocysteine levels, another significant risk factor for heart attack and stroke.


The regular consumption of onions, as little as two or more times per week, is associated with a significantly reduced risk of developing colon cancer. Onions contain a number of flonoids, , the most studied of which, quercitin, has been shown to halt the growth of tumors in animals and to protect colon cells from the damaging effects of certain cancer-causing substances.


About 30 grams of onion and seven black peppers should be finely pounded in a pestle and given to the patient of cholera. It also lessens vomiting and diarrhea immediately.


Onion is irritating to the skin and stimulates the circulation of blood in the mucous membrane. Warts also sometimes disappear if rubbed with cut onions. Roasted or otherwise, onions are applied as a poultice to boils, bruises, wounds, etc., to bring the boils to maturity by its heaty sensation. Onion juice mixed with honey or olive oil is said to be best treatment for acne condition.


Onions also help maintain healthy bones. Onions may be especially beneficial for women, who are at increased risk for osteoporosis as they go through menopause.


Several anti-inflammatory agents in onions render them helpful in reducing the severity of symptoms associated with inflammatory conditions such as the pain and swelling of osteo and rheumatoid arthritis, the allergic inflammatory response of asthma, and the respiratory congestion associated with the common cold.


Latest researches of Russian doctors have further confirmed the bactericidal properties of onion. According to these findings, if a person consumes one raw onion every day, chewing thoroughly, he will be protected from a host of tooth disorders.


Onions are considered as natural anti-clotting agents. The sulphur contents contained in the onions suppress clumping of platelets thereby preventing blood clots. A study has shown that applying onion juice on scalp twice a week for 2 months will cause hair regrowth. Definitely cost much less that those hair tonic. For those suffering from burning sensation during urination, onions can provide considerable relief. The patient should drink water boiled with 6 to 7 gm of onion.Onions are said to increase the urge for healthy sexual life. One table spoon of onion juice along with spoonful of ginger juice, taken thrice a day can boost the libido and sex drive.

Benefits of Honey


Ayurvedic as well as Yunani medicine have been using honey as a vital medicine for centuries. Honey can be used without any side effects for any kind of diseases. Even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients also. Honey gives us following benefits:

(a) Take one part honey to two parts of Luke warm water and add a small teaspoon of cinnamon powder, make a paste and massage it on the itching part of the body. It is noticed that the pain recedes within a minute or two. Or for arthritis patients daily morning and night take one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If drunk regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured.

When the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week out of the 200 people so treated practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.

(b) Those suffering from hair loss or baldness may apply a paste of hot olive oil, one tablespoon or honey, one teaspoon cinnamon powder before bath and keep it for approx. 15 min. and then wash the hair. It was found very effective even if kept for 5 min. also.

(c) Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of Luke warm water and drink it. It destroys the germs of the bladder.

(d) Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of cinnamon powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water if given to a cholesterol patient,it reduces the level of cholesterol in the body by 10% within2 hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken 3 times a day any chronic cholesterol cured. As per the information received in the said journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complains of cholesterol.

(e) Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon Luke warm honey with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder daily for 3 days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold and clear the
sinuses.

(f) Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomachache and also clears stomach ulcers from the root. GAS: According to the studies done in India & Japan, it is revealed that if honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

(g) Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread or chappati instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast.It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from

heart attack. Also those who have already had an attack, if they do this process daily, are kept miles away from the next attack, Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat.

(i) Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks.

(j) Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food, relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.

(l) Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly arrests the ravages of old age. Take 4 spoons of honey 1 spoon of cinnamon powder and 3 cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4 cup. 3 to 4 times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans also increases and even if a person is 100 years old. Starts performing the chores of a 20 years old.

(m) Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste.
Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. If done daily for two weeks. It removes pimples from the roots.

(n) Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures Eczema, Ringworm and all types of skin infections.

(o) Daily in the morning 1/2 hour before breakfast on an empty stomach and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup water. If taken regularly it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also drinking of this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.

(p) Recent research in Japan and Australia has reveled that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month 3 times a day

(q) Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful than detrimental to the body strength. Half tablespoon honey taken in one glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 p.m. when the vitality of the body starts decreasing.
